For over 30 years, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole has leveraged local philanthropy to make nonprofits more effective and our community stronger. Dog Is My CoPilot is grateful to be part of this incredible event. Each year, funds raised through Old Bill’s touch the lives of everyone including pets in Teton County!
We now operate two Cessna caravans to transport twice as many adoptable pets from overcrowded shelters to new adoption partners all over the country. The second plane is based in Texas and will be flying adoptable animals to new partners in the central and northeast. Operating two aircrafts allows us to expand our partner network and double the number of lives that we save each year.
Fly along with us and watch this video from BOBS from Skechers! Together with Petco Love, we are giving shelter pets a second chance at life by transporting them from cities where the shelters are overcrowded, to cities where the demand for rescue is high. A win-win for everyone involved and a true mission of love.
We are looking to expand our animal-rescue team by adding a full-time paid Cessna Caravan pilot.
We are a nonprofit committed to transporting animals from communities with overcrowded municipal shelters to animal adoption centers and families waiting to adopt a new pet.
We believe that collaboration with individual animal shelters and adoption organizations, which manage the placement of animals in their local communities, is key to saving more lives!

“I’m literally obsessed with her!!! She’s a stage 5 clinger, but in a really cute way, not a separation anxiety way. She does really well in her crate but if i’m home, she is constantly in my space. Her personality has definitely come out now that she’s settled in! She’s very into toys, shoes, and has even tried to run off with some cash! She also likes going for hikes and does really well riding in a backpack when she gets tired. She’s such a fun dog and is going to be such a good college dog!!” — Hoots mom

This crew landed last week in the arms of the @animaladoptioncenterjhwy, they were all all at risk of being euthanized and are now living their best lives right here in Wyoming thanks to people like you!

A message from @animaladoptioncenterjhwy Today we celebrate Cherry’s two year anniversary with us.
Cherry is the longest resident in AAC history by a landslide but she’s not the hardest dog we’ve ever adopted out. Does she want to be the only pet in the home? Sure. Is she an incredible family and house dog who LOVES her people? YES! Her potential is so great but for some reason she cannot catch the eye of the right people. Her incredible foster family has committed to her and we are so grateful for them. Without them, we truly don’t know what we would do. Over her two years with us she has had less than 10 people interested in her. Why? We have no idea.
If we are being open and honest, having a long term dog in our relatively small rescue program is hard and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t feel it. It’s even more difficult when we are in a tiny, remote community where she has limited access to adopters and a wider population. She has taken up a space in our foster program that could’ve been filled with an estimated 50+ more dogs that are also in need, especially when shelters are in the worst condition in years. Finding her a home would be monumental for us.
Once Cherry is settled in your home, she’s relatively low maintenance. To make her even easier, she’s making strides with crate-training to make her more adoptable. She also has come to a point in her training where she can calmly walk in public and stay focused when she sees other dogs and comes with her own custom @bumas_muzzle. She even learned how to ride a bike next to her foster dad! Whoever ends up with this jackpot of a dog will be supported by us, the Training and Behavior Team at @askasanimals, and her current fosters will always be her second family.
Cherry is now middle aged and we are still hopeful she’s just been patiently waiting the perfect family. Someone just needs to give her a chance!

159 days. 159 days Sonrisa has watched visitors to her overcrowded shelter walk past her kennel. 159 days waiting for a miracle for someone to save her life. Thanks to @pvastx who shared their urgent plea for a rescue to step forward to save her life.
@miraclesforsatosrescue saw their plea and tagged her for rescue and today she’s flying on The Sequel to safety. After 159 days she truly landed a golden ticket along with 37 other furry passengers.
The reality is animal shelters are at maximum capacity and having to make the hardest decisions as space runs out for adoptable pets coming through their doors. The staff and volunteers at shelters like our amazing partners @pvastx need YOU! They need US to support them more than ever before. PLEASE share this message so we can help more dogs like Sonrisa. FOSTER a dog from a shelter and leave a comment of positive support to show our partners we care and support them! 💙

We’re excited to be celebrating a few big milestones with our partners @austinpetsalive (APA!) Their Transport Program is able to help save thousands of lives like these from unnecessary euthanasia and we are so proud to be working together!
On Friday, we celebrated flying our 29,000th passenger Mushu a shepherd/malamute mix that APA! and their partner shelter in Marathon Texas fought hard to save! Mushu took to the skies and landed with @wadenacountyhumanesociety! We’ll be sure to share more updates from the cockpit as these 60 furry babies find homes!
@austinpetsalive also celebrated a huge milestone for their transport program too! Since their program’s inception in 2021, over 6,000 pets have found adoptive homes out of state and we’re grateful to support their life saving work with flights at no cost to them thanks to partners like @petcolove

Today, our flight from Abilene Texas is in memory of a very special dog. A few years ago Murray flew on the Big Dog from Abilene Animal Services and landed in the arms of a foster home that turned into forever home in Jackson Wyoming— he was cherished and loved 💙 We’re dedicating our flight today in honor of Murray and all his shelter companions that are currently waiting to find the LOVE and companionship just like Murray found.
In loving memory of Murray “Mathis little bean” who will forever “rise up” in honor of the thousands of shelter dogs across our nation. 🪽
