CHASTIDY
Chastidy previously had a litter of puppies and has been through quite a lot over the past few months what with that and the transport from Texas to Portland. She is a shy, sweet gal, who can take a minute to acclimate to new situations and people. Once comfortable, she is a bouncy, enthusiastic player who loves squeaky toys and zoomies. She’s gentle and polite, fun to be around, and loves getting pets. She is smart, curious, adorable, loving, and still has some sweet puppy energy. The more time she spends with us, the more we are getting to know her and seeing her sweet personality start to shine through, but she still has a ways to go in terms of warming up and getting fully comfortable.
The Animal Adoption Center is dedicated to saving the lives of homeless animals through rescue, adoption, education and spay/neuter.
DANDELION
Meet Dandelion. This little cutie joined up from Texas and has had a very smooth transition. We have only heard lovely things about Dandelion from her fosters aside from her being not too wild about cats.
CHERRY
Meet Cherry! She is our longest resident having spent almost 2 years with us waiting for a home to call her own. Cherry needs a home where she is the only pet and has people that understand that she doesn’t want to interact with doggy friends outside of her home either. Cherry is INCREDIBLE with kids and her family and would be content with a fenced in yard and a cozy couch to snuggle on. Cherry is going to be an incredible family dog. She is such a wiggly girl and melts everyone she meets with her silly grin and immediate request for belly rubs! She is fully muzzle trained which keeps her and everyone around her safe on walks just in case she is suddenly surprised by a dog. She is a serious bundle of love and can’t wait to find her forever home!
Hearts & Bones is the realization of our shared dream to bring people together across the country to save the lives of dogs in need and unite loving forever families. As a foster-based rescue, we focus on providing all of our dogs with secure and caring environments while they search for their adopters.
APPLE
The apple of our eye! Apple is 1 year old and 21 pounds, and as sweet as a honeycrisp. Here foster says that she loves to sit in your lap, get scritches, and lean in to give you kisses. What could be better? Apple loves to play and is a pro at fetch, and she is house trained and crate trained! This adorable girl is still getting used to the big city and will try to play with everyone even when leashed, but we know she’ll get used it. She’s great with people when meeting them at home, so she just needs slower introductions and some patience when she’s outside on a leash. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and smart pup, adopt Apple!
PIERRE
Bonjour, Pierre! It is our pleasure to introduce this handsome boy. Pierre is a 1-year-old Rottweiler mix, weighs 43 pounds, and is house-trained. Wow, what a catch! He is a furry ball of energy and loves going on walks. He would love to go on a romantic walk and explore the sights and sounds with his best friend (you). Pierre is super affectionate and will be sure to keep you company. His beautiful golden brown eyes will melt your heart, especially when he sits next to you and looks up at you like he’s expecting something. And that something is, your love. While he may always want to play with or be near you, he is also super patient and will chill on his own if he can tell you are busy with something. Handsome, considerate, and loving! [*Chef’s kiss*] Will you share your love with this sweet handsome boy?
Paws For Life K9 Rescue pulls its dogs from city and county shelters. Often, we choose dogs in need of socialization and training which we place with our incarcerated trainers throughout California State Prisons.

Bounce Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization focused on rescuing and transitioning displaced domestic animals into their ideal homes. Bounce places heavy emphasis on quality veterinary care, nutrition, spay/neuter programs, education, and compatible adoptions.
ZIPPER
Zipper is a 3-month-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog’s adoption fee is $500 and includes age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, and neuter. This dog is good with other dogs, cats, and children. This puppy is working on kennel training, housebreaking, and house etiquette. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if it might be a good fit for your home.
BRUNO
Bruno is finally adoption ready, and looking for his best friend(s). Upon entry into Bounce, Bruno had a fractured front limb. This has been surgically repaired and will not require any additional vetting moving forward. He hasn’t let his previous injury affect his spirit. Bruno is a true social butterfly. Bruno loves men, women and children and is a complete cuddle bug. He is playful with other dogs and would love a canine playmate, but would also be happy being the centre of attention. If that doesn’t sound perfect enough, Bruno is house broken (will bark at the door to go potty), kennel trained, loves car rides and sleeps through the night in his kennel. Bruno loves being outside, rolling in the grass and soaking up the sun. Now he just needs a forever home to do it in!
Opened in 2023, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue’s South Carolina Rescue Campus provides live-saving services to animals in need. The South Carolina Rescue Campus is a place where we can temporarily house and care for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens and prepare them for transport to the Washington, D.C. area.
AGNES
Agnes is looking for some love and pampering! This mama has done a great job raising her three pups and looks forward to having some me time, which she hopes involved being spoiled rotten! Belly rubs, snuggle time, snacks—you name it! Of course, she’d also like to go on lots of walks to explore her new world and have plenty of opportunities to run and play with other pups like the young dog she is.
NOEL
Noel is looking for a very special home that will share all the love she has in her heart. This dog who had such a traumatic start deserves her soft landing, her happy ending.
