About the Pegasi Classic

We are excited to announce the Pegasi Classic Golf & Cornhole Tournament will be returning to Arrowood Golf Course on Veterans Day, November 11, 2022!

Last year was our inaugural event and a huge success. We gathered military aviators, airline crew members, their families and friends to benefit the Thompson Tansky Scholarship Foundation. This charitable foundation was established to provide college scholarships to the deserving families of Alaska Air Group employees in memory of the Alaska Airlines pilots and crewmembers we lost on Flight 261 on January 31, 2000. Over 250 people attended and we raised $30,000 while creating a fantastic event for our community in the process.

This year the tradition of building strong bonds and supporting worthy charities will continue. We are incredibly honored and thrilled to partner with Dog Is My CoPilot (DIMC). Those of us in the Pegasi Classic Crew were all humbled by the participation and overwhelming support last year. If you attended, donated, sponsored, or helped in any way last year, THANK YOU! We’re going to go big this year and hope to see you there.

Our close friend, Jennifer Boman, shared her experiences with me about this exceptionally worthy charity. Jen is a military and commercial airline aviator. In addition, she volunteers her time and expertise at DIMC. DIMC is successful because of selfless volunteerism by pilots like Jen. They currently have 14 volunteer pilots from all backgrounds and experience in the aviation world. These are individuals that choose to volunteer their time because they feel the need to give back and be part of something larger than themselves. Jen is serving in honor of her soul dog, Koru, who was lucky enough to get a second chance himself. Every single animal loaded onto the mighty Cessna Caravan, dubbed “The Big Dog”, deserves kindness, safety and love. This is what DIMC, the pilots and shelter partners strive to provide while being part of the solution to the pet overpopulation problem in America.

Dog Is My CoPilot is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that transports at-risk animals from overcrowded shelters to adoption centers in other geographic regions where loving families are waiting. They work collaboratively with city shelters, local animal welfare organizations and individuals in fifteen western states to coordinate transports. They provide air services at no cost to the shelters and adoption centers with whom they partner.

Together with DIMC, we are beyond excited to be hosting a second annual Pegasi Classic Golf & Cornhole Tournament this year! Sign up to have a great time and be part of the good DIMC is spreading!

“When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal, I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.”

The Pegasi Classic Golf & Cornhole Tournament is open for registration! We anticipate a sell-out crowd this year. The event will host teams of two golfers or two cornhole players competing to hoist the 2022 Pegasi Jug! Additionally, a number of raffle items, food, and beverages will be generously provided by our fantastic sponsors. Those who wish to only participate in the raffle and attend the reception after the tournament are welcome to purchase a happy hour ticket.

The Alaska Airlines Master Executive Council of the Air Line Pilots Association fully supports the two charities recognized by the Pegasi Classic and encourages its members to participate at a level in which they are comfortable.

Pegasi Golf Classic
Those of us who have been in the military raised our right hand to make a selfless donation of our time and energy to aid our nation, and many of those who have retired from military service wish to continue volunteering in one way or another. The Pegasi Classic provides an opportunity for military folks to volunteer, share experiences with one another, and create new bonds.

Dog Is My CoPilot

Dog Is My CoPilot is a 501(c)3 that transports at-risk animals from overcrowded shelters to adoption centers in other geographic regions where loving families are waiting. Peter E. Rork, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon and lifelong pilot, co-founded the organization in 2012 with the goal of saving as many animal lives as possible. We work collaboratively with city shelters, local animal welfare organizations and individuals in fifteen western states to coordinate transports. We provide our air services at no cost to the shelters and adoption centers with whom we partner. Since our inception, we have helped save the lives of over 24,000 dogs and cats with our transport flights.
