Hello From the Cockpit ✈️🐾!

As we’ve been busy with flight missions across the country, we wanted to take a moment to share a quick update on what you have helped make possible.

This winter has been especially active for Dog Is My CoPilot, Inc.. Our team has been flying two aircraft, completing dozens of lifesaving missions, and helping hundreds of dogs and cats reach safety and loving homes nationwide. Every takeoff represents hope, and every landing brings animals one step closer to a fresh start.

A Tribute That Saves Lives 💌

Our digital tribute cards offered a meaningful way to honor someone special while helping shelter pets take their first steps toward home. Each card sent helped support rescue flights and gave dogs and cats a second chance at life.

That same opportunity is available all year long. On our website, you’ll find a variety of digital tribute cards perfect for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, memorials, and other meaningful moments. Each tribute is a thoughtful way to celebrate or remember someone you love—while directly supporting lifesaving flights.

Send a card. Save a life.

Some Dogs Aren’t Meant for a Kennel They’re Meant for a Mission 🐕🦺

Some dogs aren’t meant to wait in a kennel they’re meant to serve with purpose.

Through Petco Love’s network of partners, Ruffles’ journey began in Texas, where she boarded a plane with Dog Is My CoPilot ✈️ and traveled to Bitter Root Humane Association in Montana. While adoption interest followed, it quickly became clear that Ruffles needed more than a home she needed a mission.

That’s where National Disaster Search Dog Foundation stepped in. Through our partnership, the Search Dog Foundation identifies driven, high-energy dogs like Ruffles and connects them with lifesaving careers.

After completing the Foundation’s rigorous training program, Ruffles became a certified rescue search dog and is now proudly partnered with Justin, serving on California Task Force 7 in Sacramento.

When organizations work together, overlooked dogs don’t just find homes they become heroes. 💜

Check out the video below to see Ruffles’ incredible journey and new life in action!

Ready for Takeoff ✈️

Behind the scenes, our pilots have been hard at work completing their required annual training a critical part of keeping our missions safe, reliable, and lifesaving.

Huge thanks to our friends at Tito’s Handmade Vodka, the Vodka for Dog People!

We received a very special $40,000 gift, and part of that support helped make something incredibly important happen this year: Pilot Training. Because behind every rescue flight is a highly trained pilot making it all possible.

Thanks to this support, four of our pilots completed advanced flight training, which is required annually. They’re now mission-ready and already flying lifesaving missions this winter. More trained pilots mean more flights and more dogs getting a second chance.

And on one of those flights, a very special pup from West Texas landed in Wyoming and was placed straight into the arms of her new mom. Moments like that are why this work matters so much. Captain Schwab was clearly so happy to hand her off to her new mom. We’re endlessly grateful to Tito’s for believing in our pilots, our partners, and the lives saved with every flight.

Looking Ahead

As winter flying continues, we’re also looking ahead to an exciting year. We have approximately 150 rescue flights planned, to be completed by our three full-time pilots alongside five dedicated volunteer pilots all working together to move animals to safety across the country.

This season also brings a major milestone. We expect to fly our 50,000th shelter pet to safety an incredible achievement we anticipate celebrating later this summer. Each of those flights represents a life changed and a future made possible.

Every flight we plan and every life we save is possible because our pilots are trained, current, and ready to respond. The support provided through the Tito’s Handmade Vodka grant is truly lifesaving and helps ensure we can keep flying when animals need us most.

Thank you for being part of every flight, every landing, and every life changed. We couldn’t do this without you. ❤️✈️🐾
