National Nonprofit Petco Love Invests in Dog Is My CoPilot to Save and Improve the Lives of Pets Nationwide

Dog Is My CoPilot partners with Animal Adoption Center to Air Transport Shelter Pets to Find Loving Homes in the Tetons on September 27

Dog Is My CoPilot is set to receive a $750,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for pets. To celebrate, more than 50 dogs and cats will be airlifted from El Paso, Texas to rescues in Wyoming and Oregon to be adopted into loving homes.

In our wonderful Jackson community, a place that truly loves its dogs and cats, we are rewriting the story for shelter pets. Dog Is My CoPilot is partnering with the Animal Adoption Center who will be receiving seven small dogs on this flight. All of them already have foster and adoptive homes waiting. The rest of the pets on board will be flying to Portland Oregon. The flight will also celebrate the $750,000 grant investment from Petco Love to support Dog Is My CoPilot’s ongoing lifesaving work.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $400 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like ours — across North America, with more than 6.9 million pets adopted and counting.

“Our investment in Dog Is My CoPilot is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses patented image-recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“We are beyond grateful to continue to grow and strengthen our partnership with Petco Love,” said Dr. Peter E. Rork, Chief Pilot and Founder of Dog Is My CoPilot. “With Petco Love’s support, we’ve been able to considerably scale up our lifesaving efforts. This investment affirms our work and motivates us to continue to grow our partnerships with animal shelters and adoption centers, saving lives by the thousands!”

Dog Is My CoPilot is a nonprofit organization that has flown more than 35,000 shelter pets to safety. Dog Is My CoPilot believes every dog (and cat) waiting in a shelter deserves the chance to find a home, and we’re dedicated to being part of the solution by providing flights—always at no cost to our partners—thanks to the support of our amazing partners like Petco Love.
