Karl Schwab
Contract Pilot
Karl Schwab is a third-generation pilot from Houston, Texas. After graduating high school, he attended Texas A&M University and then joined the US Marines. He graduated USMC bootcamp in San Diego as the honor graduate and was fast-tracked as a computer programmer and stationed in Quantico, Albany and Okinawa Japan. After serving for just under four years, and receiving an honorable discharge, Karl spent the next twenty-five years working as a software engineer for various defense department companies. After earning his private pilot’s certification in 1996, Karl then started flying several types of multi-engine aircraft, eventually receiving his commercial certification for multi-engine airplanes. Fast forward twenty years later, after all four of his children graduated from college, Karl received permission from his chief counsel (his wife Dawn) to further pursue flying. Currently Karl is employed by Texas A&M in a part-time/as needed role. Karl enjoys his two pets: “Chester Roooo” (a male Cavapoo) who is 6 years old, and “Tati Gail” (a female rescue cat) who is almost 10 years old. Karl’s favorite time of the day is early morning when both animals become excited for food and treats and early morning walks.
