Each year, when our founder and Chief Pilot Dr. Peter Rork blows out his birthday candles, he makes one wish… to help save more shelter pets! This May, we hope you’ll join us to honor his birthday wish with a donation to help keep our aircrafts ‘Wheels Up!’ saving shelter pets.
This month, in honor of Peter’s birthday, a generous donor and his dog Abba will be matching every gift up to $38,000 for the 38,000 shelter pets that have been saved. That means your donation will go twice as far to fuel our lifesaving flights and help ensure that every mission remains free for the 200+ shelters we serve.
What began as a one-man mission to rescue shelter pets in overcrowded and under-resourced areas has grown into a nationwide movement. Since Dog Is My CoPilot’s very first flight thirteen years ago, Dr. Rork has remained actively involved in every aspect of our mission. Now leading and mentoring a growing team of pilots, with your support, we can expand our crew and continue flying thousands of animals to safety each year.
Together, we have flown more than 38,000 shelter pets, and this year is already shaping up to be our biggest lifesaving year yet. With three planes, three full-time pilots, and a dedicated team of volunteers, we’re reaching more shelters to help free up space and fly them to rescues where each one will find a home! And it’s only possible thanks to YOU.
