It’s Old Bill’s Fun Run Season!

It’s Old Bill’s Fun Run season, one of the most important times of the year for Dog Is My CoPilot. Old Bill’s helps provide the funding that keeps our mission flying all year long. Anyone can participate, and 100% of your donation to Dog Is My CoPilot during the Old Bill’s giving period (August 14-September 18) directly supports our lifesaving mission. Helping us continue providing free flights to shelter and rescue partners and giving homeless dogs and cats the chance to find loving homes. We hope you’ll consider making a gift and joining our community of supporters who help keep our wheels up and our mission moving forward.

Every flight represents hope. Every passenger has a story. And every adoption is a reminder of what is possible when communities come together.

One of those second chances belongs to Banjo. When Banjo arrived in Jackson, he was timid, skittish, and unsure of the world around him. Like so many shelter dogs, he simply needed a chance. Today, Banjo is a completely different dog.

He’s an adventurous hiking partner, a camping companion, a rafting buddy, and even joins his owner at work, where he helps create a calm, welcoming space for therapy clients. The dog who was once afraid of people and new experiences now eagerly greets new friends, loves cuddles, and approaches each day with confidence, curiosity, and joy.

His adopter shared:

“Watching his transformation has been incredible. The timid, skittish dog who was unsure of people and new experiences has turned into the sweetest, most affectionate companion. He now loves meeting people, can’t get enough cuddles, and approaches life with a real sense of curiosity and joy.

Banjo is truly my best friend. We’ve shared so many adventures and grown so much together. Over the years we have hiked, camped, rafted, skied, and gone on several multi-day camping adventures together. He joins me at work sometimes and spends his days helping create a calm, welcoming space for my therapy clients.

Thank you, Dog Is My CoPilot and the Animal Adoption Center, for giving Banjo a second chance and giving me one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received.”

Banjo’s story is one of many made possible through the partnerships that connect homeless pets with families here in Jackson Hole.

Dog Is My CoPilot works alongside local adoption organizations, including our longtime partner, the Animal Adoption Center, to help connect adoptable shelter pets with families throughout the Teton County community. Each year, dozens of dogs and cats are transported into our region, creating adoption opportunities for local families while also helping relieve overcrowded shelters in other parts of the country.

One of the most rewarding parts of our mission is seeing these once-at-risk shelter pets thrive in their new homes. They’re hiking our trails, exploring our rivers, curling up by the fireplace, and becoming beloved members of families throughout Teton County.

When you support Dog Is My CoPilot through Old Bill’s Fun Run, you’re helping keep our aircraft in the air and our mission moving forward.

Your support provides free lifesaving flights for shelter pets, helps our partners save more lives, and gives more dogs and cats the opportunity to find the loving homes they deserve.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us continue to save lives one flight, one family, and one shelter pet at a time. We hope you’ll support Dog Is My CoPilot during Old Bill’s Fun Run and help make more stories like Banjo’s possible.
